I was pleased to read about the Military Spouse Fellowship Program sponsored through FINRA (Finance Industry Regulatory Authority.) Their website is www.finra.org.
One of the websites that brought me to the fellowship program was www.saveand invest.org, which has a “Military Center” tab. When you click on the tab, it brings you to some great information about controlling debt, saving for the future and protecting your money. All of these topics are dear to my heart as an estate planning attorney. There is also a section titled…”Get Retirement Ready” specifically for military service members.
FINRA is not a government organization, but a private one. According to the FINRA website, “ FINRA is dedicated to investor protection and market integrity through effective and efficient regulation of the securities industry….FINRA is not part of the government. We’re an independent, not-for-profit organization authorized by Congress to protect America’s investors by making sure the securities industry operates fairly and honestly.
FINRA accomplishes this by: “writing and enforcing rules governing the activities of more than 4,135 securities firms with approximately 634,505 brokers; examining firms for compliance with those rules; fostering market transparency; and educating investors.”
To find out more about the FINRA mission and about the Military Spouse Fellowship Program visit the websites noted above.
And…A Heartfelt “Thank You” To The Men and Women Serving In Our Military and To Our Retired Military
Working to Preserve Your Wealth and Protect Your Future in a Constantly Changing World.
