When my researcher last visited the wiserwomen.org site, there was an article about the iOme Challenge.
According to the website: "The iOme (I OWE ME) Challenge is a national student competition that encourages students to analyze the current state of retirement policy in the U.S. and propose viable policy solutions to meet the needs of their generation."
Log on to wiserwomen.org for more information. The winning team of the challenge receives $5,000. Students are eligible. A faculty advisor is required on the application. The application is free.
So, if your student is learning from home, encourage them to view the iOme challenge details, create a team, get a faculty advisor on board and write their grant challenge.
Note: There is a deadline for applying!
It is beyond the scope of this article to detail the requirements and all the details for applying.
You might ask, why is an estate planning attorney writing about a national student competition?
My researcher is constantly monitoring sites that can save retirees (or those approaching retirement) money.
The Estate Planning objective is about Life Planning. The dollars you can save now will help you meet your future goals.
In addition, encouraging students to achieve their goals and become smarter about finances can offer valuable lessons, now and into the future.
